My First Week at 9 Clouds: From One Woman Show to Team
Do you ever have an encounter with someone and feel like you’ve known them your whole life?
When I joined the team at 9 Clouds, I truly didn’t know what to expect. After all, I had been freelancing for almost four years and knew joining a team would have its challenges. However, I can honestly say that challenging is not a word I would use to describe my first week.
Upon arrival on my first day, I was introduced to the team the way you would introduce someone to a close friend. There were no stuffy, formal interactions, just casual and comfortable. The office atmosphere instantly put me at ease.
Joining the Team
While I have enjoyed the freedom of freelancing in recent years, I have also longed for the team aspect. The team at 9 Clouds each has their own specialties but work together like a well-oiled machine.
As a freelancer, I was responsible for client communications, building strategy, implementing strategy, and reporting analytics. Often, I felt like I was being pulled in too many directions to really focus on what I am passionate about: content creation.
The team at 9 Clouds balances workloads for all digital strategists so they have the opportunity to excel in their specialty.
The Team Hierarchy
The 9 Clouds team is streamlined to create the best experience for their clients. This means you have an entire specialized force behind your marketing strategy.
Account Managers
The account managers are responsible for communicating and coordinating with the clients.
Account Coordinators
The account coordinators are the middle(wo)men between the account managers and digital specialists. They set up the road map for the digital strategists to deliver what the client has ordered.
Digital Strategists
The digital strategists (formerly known as creative content strategists) focus on the creation and maintenance of the services the client has requested. They implement the strategy and give recommendations to give the client the results they want.
A Place for You to Call Home
By the end of my first week, I already felt like I was a valued member of the team. I expected the transition from working alone to working with a team to take weeks or months, but the team at 9 Clouds exceeded my expectations. Rather than finding a team, I found a family.
