First-Day Jitters

Starting a new job takes over all types of emotions: anxiety, excitement, nervousness and curiosity. I had all of these the night before my first day at 9 Clouds. 

From working primarily remotely before, I was mostly panicking about what outfit to wear (I could not show up in my daily sweats), but once I figured that out, everything else flowed together. 

Everyone greeted me with smiles and excitement. My favorite (and most unexpected) part of my first day was my co-worker’s fur baby being at the office (Midnight <3). Not only did Midnight catch my attention, but the conversations I already began with my new co-workers gave me comfort and my nervousness was gone. 

I also really appreciated the fact that everyone went out of their way to talk to me and wanted to get to know me, knowing they have a busy schedule. 

Finding My Groove (And My Passwords)

The first days are typical for getting a computer and setting everything up. Everyone was very helpful in getting me logged into all the platforms. 

By day two, I had forgotten one of my passwords and had to change it — but now it’s stored and secured in the very helpful password manager tool, Bitwarden.

My onboarding process has been flowing and the 9 Clouds team provides abundant resources. The open office design makes it easy to blurt out a question and have someone help me out quickly. 

Learning The 9 Clouds Way

My calendar filled up fast, and I’ve been soaking in as much information as possible. Even just being a fly on the wall during meetings has already taught me so much about how the team collaborates and communicates. 

I came in thinking I had a general idea of how things worked — and quickly realized how much there is to learn. 9 Clouds has given me a fresh look at how different roles connect and what effective teamwork really looks like. 

One thing that stands out right away is how much the team values vulnerability and open communication. It’s been an amazing first week, and I can’t wait to keep learning and growing here!
