Nerd Front:

Soylent – Similar to freelancing, this site allows you to find people to do different tasks for you or your business. It is a cheap and effective way to get work done quickly. This version is still in beta. “College student’s should get on this,” says John T. Meyer.

Skype 5.0 – Beta version is now out for Mac! Skype has been made easier, including a one-window control panel. The search inntergrates with your calendar, which makes finding contacts much easier. The new version allows you to video chat with multiple people from all around the world!

Tip of the week:

Google “places” allows you to claim your business on Goolge. “Places” uses google analytics to track how many people are viewing your website, pulls in reviews, has great SEO value, simple searching, and it’s FREE! Google might already have your business listed when you search it, but you have to claim it still. Get started today as this is one of the easiest things to do online and it will make a big impact.

What’s On Our Mind

We’ve been thinking about how multiple platforms for web browsing have changed the way you have to design your website. The goal should be to make design pleasant but also functional. Do people have to scroll down the page to see important details on your website or blog? Browser Size is an application within Google that lets you see how people are viewing your website, and what screen size they are viewing from.

Foursquare’s geo-locating map of people who voted in the 2010 election. A map on the foursquare website shows the numbers and percentages of people who voted. Geo and mobile is going to be a big trend, and this is just the beginning.

Question of the day:

Are you using geo? Why or why not? Which geo applications are you using?
