After a bit of a winter hibernation, Cloud Control has returned to greet the abundant clouds of spring. There’s been no shortage of rain, but there’s a major storm (the good kind) brewing on the Nerd Front and in the Personal Forecast for 9 Clouds. That’s enough play on words for now, let’s get to the good stuff.

Nerd Front

F8 Facebook Conference – You may have noticed some changes around Facebook including that you no longer “become a fan” of your favorite pages, you simply “like” them. Along with the terminology change, Facebook has begun digging their fingers in a little deeper all over the internet. Not only can you “like” pages on Facbeook, but you’ll find the familiar icon resting on all of your favorite websites. That’s right, you can “like” anything on the internet and when you do, their Facebook page will be notified and all of your friends can see your appreciation on both Facebook and the site you like.

iPadYou heard it correctly: John and Scott’s mom has an iPad, but nobody at 9 Clouds has one of their own. Basically, it’s a lot of fun. It’s impressive. It’s an incredible device. But we don’t think it’s necessary. We’re interested to see how it evolves, but we’re not jumping on as first-movers.

Local Front

Ignite SD – The first Ignite, SD event has come and gone, but it went extremely well. Ignite events are made up from a series five minute passion-talks. Anybody can talk about anything they have a passion for… as long as it doesn’t last more than five minutes. Enlighten us, but make it quick.

South Dakota Giant Vision Competition – If you have a big idea, put it to the test in this business competition. 9 Clouds took second this year and we’re excited about the idea we will be implementing over the coming months.
